Smoky Quartz, Amethyst – Western Australia (AUS)

If you have a passion for quartz, this crystal is just the thing for you. At first glance, it looks like a dark smoky quartz. But a little light on the back reveals that it is ALSO an amethyst.
Please watch this video to see it “live”. This behavior is very unusual, I have only seen a few crystals of this kind so far. The crystal itself was fused at the back, is largely undamaged and shows a very high luster. A very unusual piece!
