Rhodochrosite, Galena – Madan (BUL)

This is an unusual piece from Madan in Bulgaria. It is an ore specimen with several rounded galena-crystals together with hundreds of rhodochrosite-crystals. The specimen comes from an older collection, this type of material is no longer found today. Probably the most interesting thing is the strong contrast between the highly lustrous, round galena crystals and the sharp crystallized, colored rhodochrosite. A very attractive piece in very good condition.
