Quartz, Hyalite – Zinnwald (GER)

The location of Zinnwald - Cinovec was one of the largest tin-mining areas in middle Europe, it’s history is leading back for centuries. More than 100 different minerals have been identified since then. The location is well known for its quartz crystals as well. This is a long thin grey quartz which is developed as a double terminated floater. But here’s a crazy addition: the quartz cap is green under short UV-light! This may cause by a thin layer of hyalite.
