Pyrite, Quartz – Moscona mine (ESP)

That’s an extraordinary specimen from the Moscona mine. Most items with pyrite show some tiny crystals only, larger ones? – Not really. I was happy to find this one. The matrix consists of typical yellowish fluorite-crystals. They are completely covered by pyrite, and we’re not talking about this small stuff. The pyrite is developed as cubic, high lustrous crystals up to 8 mm! They’re very shiny; some faces are covered by tiny quartz-crystals. The specimen is in very good condition.
