The area around the grimsel pass in switzerland is not a classic locality for hematite. nevertheless, good iron roses have been found on rare occasions. These are a special items of the area.
This piece consists entirely of hematite, the iron rose is well crystallized and shows a good luster. in some places a thin layer of chlorite is visible.
