Galena, Quartz – Meggen (GER)

The Meggen mine was already in operation in the 17th century and was closed down in 1992. It is a classic locality, specimens are more than 30 years old, at least. This piece consists of several large galena crystals measuring up to 4.4 cm! Some crystal surfaces feature small quartz crystals and a little marcasite. The specimen is very well formed and quite impressive for the location where it was found. The original label is included.
