Cerussite – Tsumeb (NAM)

Cerussite is definitely a classic from Tsumeb. This small specimen consists almost entirely of cerussite, which forms crystals up to 3.5 cm in size. The surfaces are typically striped but highly polished. The color is difficult to describe, but I would call it smoky. As expected, the specimen is quite heavy for its size » a lead mineral. The piece comes from the G. Kronz collection (Luxembourg).
