Calcite – Tsumeb (NAM)

Calcite is one of the most interesting minerals in Tsumeb, due to its combinations with other minerals and the abundance of crystal forms. These are highly lustrous calcite crystals up to 3.3 cm in edge length, with the crown side of the crystals partly dusted with dolomite or a second generation of calcite. The high luster can only be seen on the edges. I find this piece very interesting; its uniqueness only becomes apparent at second glance.
